Vibration Isolation to reduce Vibrations and Structure-borne Sound
Introduction to vibration isolation
As mechanical engineers and acousticians we are able to isolate unwanted vibrations from transferring into neighbouring structures, and to mitigate structure-borne sound in buildings.
Our experience is in vibration control and vibration isolation in several industries including automotive, aerospace, building services, construction, oil and gas, telecommunication, off-road vehicles and auxiliary equipment and machines.
Why is vibration isolation required?
Vibration isolation is a vibration control approach to reduce vibration levels migrating into neighbouring structures and machinery. Excessive vibration levels can damage structures and machinery, and therefore isolation is used when vibration control practices are not possible or financially viable.
What is vibration isolation?
Vibration isolation is an additional mechanism to reduce the level of vibration reaching adjoining structural members, structures and equipment.
Specifying anti-vibration products for vibration isolation
As mechanical designers and vibration engineers, we are well experienced in designing and developing equipment and machines for all sectors. Using our expertise to assess the vibration or noise caused by vibration, we are able to model the problem, understand and improve by design and isolation theory.
We have international clients that seek the best, and with our network of suppliers, we are able to find the ideal isolation mount and system for your project
The ideal solution
We have been approached for several different vibration problems in several industry sectors to resolve unwanted noise and vibration. In most cases, vibration isolation was the only retrofit approach to solving the problems. See our case study of isolating structure borne noise.
Design and installation
As both a mechanical engineers and acousticians we resolve the problem from acquiring relevant data to resolve the problem. The process that we follow is in our vibration analysis page.
Building Information Modelling
As for design, we are able to provide computer aided design models for building information modelling.
Retrofit and bespoke designed systems
We have designed many retrofit solutions, where most times the space to accommodate the isolation system was too small. So we designed compact isolation systems to fit in small spaces without having an impact on the vibrating equipment.
